Site Welfare Facilities: What Does Your Site Need?

Site Welfare Facilities: What Does Your Site Need?

Good welfare facilities keep a site running smoothly and workers comfortable. Here's a plain-English look at the facilities most sites want to provide.

The essentials

Typically that means somewhere warm to rest and eat, toilets, hand-washing, a means to heat food and boil water, and somewhere to dry wet workwear. On a portable-cabin site, these are delivered through welfare units, canteens, toilet blocks and drying rooms.

Combine or separate?

Smaller sites often use a single combi welfare unit that packs several functions into one cabin. Larger sites split facilities across dedicated units for capacity.

Getting it right

Match facilities to your headcount and the length of the project. Responsibility for on-site compliance sits with the site operator, but we're happy to help you choose suitably sized refurbished units.
